Last Post About Petrol Prices (for this year la)

Last post on petrol prices, I promise. For this year.

I snapped this pic somewhere in the city the other day, i then realized that a lot of the petrol stations have put up this sign.

Price of Petrol in Malaysia

Anyway, if you can’t see it properly, this is what it says:

Actual Price Govt Subsidy Retail Price
RON 97 2.797 1.177 1.620
Diesel 2.137 0.856 1.281

*sigh*… RM1.62 man… soon its gonna be more expensive than most of the shares I own… hahaha…

Although I know it will hit me very hard financially, I actually think its a good idea to just do away with the subsidies. That should reduce the jams in the city by 20% at least. People will car pool and take public transport. But of course, gomen must do their part to upgrade the public transport also lah.

I agree with Pat most definitely BUT with the state of efficiency that our public transportation is at now, I think companies in Malaysia would be better off subsidising their employees’ petrol expenses than get them coming in late everytime, which would directly affect the company. I don’t understandlah sometimes, why can’t one company be in charge of all the LRT, Putra and KTM service…coz each and every one of them nak untung sendiri..dats why.

wingz – i say, dun be liddat lar… cheer up, long weekend coming…. 🙂

mahagurusia – hah! if it strikes, i get a share!

pat – but, i seriously think it’ll start becoming like Indon if the subsidy is lifted. Well, maybe not such a violent reaction, but still huge problems.

8555 – NGV, gotta line up with all the cabbies at Petronas.

JoeC – or stand by the roadside, thumbing a ride, like in the movies…

s-kay – there’s always talk of it, but looks like thing are moving slowly. putra and star are run by the same people, but as for better bus service, i guess depends on where you stay lor…

yuin – face mask! i can still remember the killer haze! jahaha!

Hah? Serious? Man…run by same ppl but I bet different divisions…if they make it by the same..it would be so much easier to move about in the city…now we have to like sit Putra and then interchange…BUY another ticket for Star LRT..so mafan…bus service well, in countries with loads of traffic…can never be efficient unless you’re living in the States or something

at first star and putra were separate, then putra started making money while star wasn’t, so they put the putra people in charge of star, too. but by then it was too late to change anything to the system like the routes…
