OK, it’s probably a trivial matter for most people, but i think its a bit strange the way RedFM handled the departure of JD & Dilly from their Breakfast Show.
First of all, i’ve no idea what happened to them, or where they are now, only that they were unceremoniously yanked off air last week. Even the ads/promos featuring their voices are gone. It’s a fact of life that in employment people come and go, but what i find strange is how they didn’t make any announcement at all. And there has been no shortage of comments on RedFM’s FB page. Check out the replies from the RedFM Crew:
Wow, talk about high-handedness in dealing with their fans. And not just once, this happens on many comments on their wall. No doubt the station is bigger than just 2 DJs, and the station (and breakfast timeslot) will continue to grow without DJ & Dilly, but I think RedFM should learn a thing or two about using social media to do PR.
In their place is Pietro (Gawd, I can’t stand that guy) and Jeremy (that guy OK lah). This is a stop gap measure, they’ve announced that Rudy is coming on on Nov 15 as their new DJ for the breakfast slot. Yeah, you know Rudy, together with Jay and Ferhad form the world’s most boring breakfast team in Malaysia (srsly, have you heard them? ZERO chemistry!) Before that Rudy was with Hitz together with JJ, they were pretty entertaining then, until they started thinking their own Gotcha calls were the funniest thing on earth.
Looks like its back to BFM for me…

Yeah…I have also stopped listening to Red FM in the morning. I just thought they have changed time slots…but I guess I may be wrong.

its sad that JD and Dilly are no longer with RED FM b’fast show… i enjoyed their verbal jousts early in the mornin.. i started listening to them when Hitz music variety was very limited… The same song could be heard 8 times (yes i counted..) a day at one point.. They made the daily commute enjoyable as i smiled most of the way… i’m gonna find out where they went..

yeah man! How can they go to another station? How is Red fm supposed to keep growing(as it repeatedly says) i think they make the best breakfast show cause they have so much chemistry.. So i guess the sixteen thousand ringgit is not up for anyone to grab now huh? And yes, rudy and pietro are both a pain. Have u listened to sham on mix fm too? He sounds like he needs coffee all the time…

Thanks for posting this Simon. I had exactly the same question in mind when they totally disappeared from radio-space like in those conspiracy movies where the identities of people were diabolically removed!
Looking at Red’s responses in the FB extract above clearly shows how unprofessional they are in responding to the fans comments..

I am not a big fan of “young, trendy” radio stations, but when I heard JD and Dilly bantering on RedFM’s breakfast show, I was hooked. It is a shame how the management is handling the queries of its listeners. I don’t listen to the station anymore.

I thought I was the only person wondering where they went! They had the best chemistry and I’ve been googling (when I have time) to find out where they went… please post it online somewhere because I’m switching stations every 5 mins now in the morning while driving – can’t find a good station to listen to – and I hated the way RedFM ‘deleted’ them from their websites, even comments on FB asking about them have been deleted – the station just keep posting stuff of their own to make their FB seem so popular! Harro – it’s only popular if there are other people other than DJ’s posting on FB….
Yep – I switched to RedFM because of them and even the cash prizes / games won’t entice me to go back to RedFM because of the unprofessional way they handled this situation. C’mon – we are adults, we can handle the truth lah. But I need a good breakfast show soon… all of them (Hitz, Mix – are just boring..) and too many ads. Yes – the Hitz Gotcha calls are actually mean and not funny!
I hope they lose the ‘fastest growing station’ thing soon…

i enjoy listening to jd & dilly every morning. good chemistry which is hardly comeby this days. don’t know the true story behind their departure but certainly strange for a radio station to act that way. i hv switch to other station since last week.

the past one week I thought maybe JD and dilly are on leave, so I dont really bother about the change of Djs.But when they promoting Rudy as the new Dj for breakfast show, then only I realized something weird is happening. I agree with most. I better start listen to mp3 during morning rush hours after this. which ever station manage to grab JD and dilly as their morning crew, you’ll find me as their new loyal listener!

Really shocked when I first heard the ads that Rudy is coming to the station, this one weekend. Oh man, such a bad news. Something is not right.
And then, when I switched on to the station on my way to work first thing in the morning, guess what I get. Jeremey and Peitro?! It dawned on me-JD & Dilly are no longer with RedFM!! It’s true, they are the reason that I stick to the station. Where are they now? I only hear Dilly’s chirpy voice in some ads.
I’ll console my heart to LiteFM or SuriaFM their neighbor perhaps. Hah! ~

I have stopped listening to RedFM due to the lameness of content given in the morning plus Pietro & Jeremy lacked chemistry big time! they obviously think highly of themselves, OMG!!! where to begin?! Not to mention RedFM comments on FB is totally high-handed in handling this matter.

same here for me. i went overseas for 2 weeks, and when i come back suddenly jd and dilly no longer on air. my wife keep telling me rudy was okay as dj when he was with jj at hitz.fm and i should give him a chance. and so i did. i heard him a few times, and realise i must be of a different generation. i hate his foreign accent (although i lived in aust for 8 years, i don’t use my aussie accent when speaking to my fellow malaysian) and he is trying too hard.
to me, jd and dilly developed their chemistry over the years. they started a bit stiff but then were okay when they enjoyed themselves by being themselves. i still remember listening to dilly cried when news of mj’s passing circulated last year. i cried too. mostly because she dared to cry on air, and jd was trying to console her on air. we (they and us as their fans) became a big family – sort of. alas, such chemistry is missing from other radio show.
my prob is – my car is a recond car from japan and i can only get BFM and Red within japan radio frequency. on top of that, my cd player is not working (didn’t change it cos didn’t have need for it as i was listening to red). now that red has rudy, i rather drive in silence. seems i need to buy a radio for the car soon when dilly and dj comes back on air in Jan.

Andrew, from what i remember Fly Guy quit and went on to form FlyFm. They moved lil kev to the afternoon slot and he subsequently sued the station for it, and the case was finally resolved recently. more in the article below

agree to you all! Rudy, Jay and Ferhad formed the most boring (110%) breakfast show on mix! she (jay) kept on repeating the topic of the discussion whenever she opened her mouth after songs. EXCRUCIATING! ZERO chemistry indeed!

Jay was way better when she was alone in the afternoon shift (10am to 3pm)
starting next year, i’ll be listening back to my favourite station (mix fm) for breakfast show with the new BEST breakfast team: JD n Dilly. my morning will be again filled with joy and laughter again, yay!!

in June 2010, mix fm sent the online survey to the mix online registered members (including me) for surveying about JD and Dilly (they were still with RED), at that time, i was already suspicious something like this will happen in the future and voila!… 100% correct!

I think I know what went wrong with this JD and Dilly thingy. It wasnt totally Dilly’s fault but JD. Remember the segment Dilly’s Dilemma? It was a few days after that they were vanished from the scene. JD kept saying the word ‘stupid, why so stupid so on’ over the dilemma of one of the callers and it was so mean of JD to keep saying those words while on air. Guys, someone must have complained (because I felt the same too that day)..JD, he and his big mouth….

I dunno, I was a pretty big fan of JD and Dilly, but not so much now that I’ve heard what really happened AND from a very reliable source, trust me. After getting offered a slot on another radio station, the duo apparently started bad mouthing their old radio station and tried influencing people not to listen to Red anymore. People from RED found out, and made them leave sooner than they were supposed to. It’s because of Red FM that these two even became famous. There was a lot of friction between them and the producers at Red too, hence their sudden departure with no explanation what so ever. But can you blame Red FM for doing so? I hope Rudy finds someone who can out do them for the breakfast show.

I did not want to reveal anything here until the right time but you have forced my hand at defending my and JD’s reputation here. For your information, JD & I are still under contract with Red FM until our 3 months of notice are over so we still have to come in to the office although we are no longer on air. This is a norm at radio stations – once you join a competitor, you’re immediately taken off air but you have to serve out your notice unless you are bought out.
I’m appalled that there is someone out there who is despicable enough to deliberately spread nasty rumours and lies with the aim to tarnish our names among our fans! Shame on that person! >:(

Well, back some years ago I love to hear JJ and Rudy in Hitz, but as we know, today they become soooo boring…DJ’s is okay but please la, they should do something else than Gotcha Call and spread the hater of Justin Bieber, LOL!
Mix FM, I love Serena C and Pietro and wondering (till now) why Mix off them and change with Rudy (later the trio…agreed 110% no chemistry!).
But frankly, I prefer to hear Mix since I love the 80’s and 90’s song!
Until I hear JD and Dilly start this January at the Breakfast Show, WOW they are great! they MFEO! Now, hearing Mix FM every morning is purposely to hear the crazy DUO, JD and Dilly!
