Thoughts After the Wedding Dinner
Published by simon on November 10, 2007I just came back from a small wedding dinner, two friends from way back got married. I haven’t seen the two of them for many years now, although i was pretty close to the guy before he went outstation to work.
The thing about attending wedding dinners is that it always makes you think.
I for one, am thankful that i am married, and very happily married. When i was a kid growing up, i always had this niggling feeling i’d never meet my life partner and get married (you’d have to have met me back then to understand why…) but in all God’s grace, here I am now.
These days, whenever i see old folks toting their small grandkids out for breakfast while their children are out working, i start thinking about my two kids’ future… thinking about how one day they’ll get married and have kids of their own. Yeah i know, it’ll be more than 20 years away, but I suppose parents can never get away from these things.
I always that my two children will one day meet their soulmates and bear beautiful children of their own, and experience all that goes with it. Just like i did.
When that day comes, i can ANYTIME take the grandkids out with me while i go eat unhealthy fatty fried breakfast while my kids are out to work…

What lovely thoughts you have had
i wonder if the opposite sex ponders upon the same question?
as long as ur grandkids won’t tell on u…. it’ll be a blissful happy arrangment…
i cant wait to get married…
life after married is different, but life after having kids is more different
haha….I agree with all the comments above!
I just had lil Chirstopher and I am also already thinking of the time when he will get married!
Weddings do that to us sometimes, especially if they are our close friends’ special moment!
It is good that you have girls. Girls (I have been told) turn to their own parents to help them…seldom the inlaws! So, you will have plenty a time with your grandchildren! But first have to go through the dating process lah…and the giving away of your daughter!
Now that is another moment to sigh about ya!
kitkat – its the red wine at the dinner…!
chubikia – definitely, my friend!
mott – bribe them then they’ll keep it a secret!
auddra – hmmm…
penny – very very true
Ann – 25 years will pass like a flash, and before you know it, you’ll be handing out wedding invites…
