Some Blog Related Stuff

Been doing some blog housekeeping recently. It started more than a month ago, when i read ahPek‘s problems with his wordpress, which made me finally upgrade to WordPress 2.1finally, after almost 2 years on the old 1.5.2 (I think…).

Of course, with the new wordpress, there was lots of stuff to explore, after such a loo-ooong time of not tinkering with my blog’s innards.

Anyway that kept me entertained for awhile.

So the other day, being a very slow day, i decided to try out Feedburner. I had actually signed up with them for more than two years, back when i my blog was syndicated on the sidebar of the Project Petaling Street Blog, i needed a burner to convert my blogspot atom feed to xml, and after messing with it for awhile i finally got it working. But recently i wanted that RSS icon and feedburner number to appear on my blog.

Subscribe in a reader

Surprise, surprise, i found out that there are more than 140 readers subscribing to my blog. The number varies everyday (something i still can’t understand why) but on the average, it’s about there. Of course, nothing like the multitudes that subscribe to folks like ProBlogger (last check was more than 22k).

The other thing i checked recently was there was a revision to the PR. My blog used to be PR5, but it dropped to PR4, and i pretty much didn’t bother with it. It’s gone up to PR5 again, which is ironic since these days i blog even more infrequent than before. Oh well, PR5 is not really a big deal, as zeo mentioned when we met up at the last blog gathering, “It’s just a number…”

(I said “oh, the PR7 guy!” when i met him, to which he replied the above).

At the moment, I messing with some new plug-ins for my wordpress…
