Here’s a good joke i came up with some years back.

Question: What blue, black and really hard?

Answer: The SPM.

SPM is still on isn’t it? That accounts for the shopping malls not being as crowded as it should be during school holidays. In a month or so McDonalds and Starbucks will be getting load of applicants for temp jobs. That is, after the students go ballistic after exams for about a week and then they realize they need more pocket money.

For the uninitiated, SPM is the local equivalent of the ‘O’ levels. I remember my SPM. I was sitting next to the prettiest girl in my class. That explains why is nearly failed it.

  • My teacher predicted all the wrong topics to appear in the exam, so it’s all her fault.

  • How could I study with all the distractions from my Counterstrike and DOTA?

  • It’s in my genes. Both of you failed YOUR SPM, so…

  • So what if I failed SPM, dad? My Pussycat Dolls fanblog has a pagerank of 7.

  • EQ is just as important as IQ isn’t it? And I have a fantastic personality.

  • Look at the bright side, Dad. Einstein failed his exams. Bill Gates dropped out of college, so I’ll be a genius or millionaire…

  • You know, dad, sometimes you really have to ask yourself, what is our society becoming if we put so much emphasis on institutional examinations that encourages rote learning?

  • It’s YOUR fault. You refused to pay RM10,000 for those black market leaked papers just like other parents did for their kids.

  • You know, mom and dad, there are lots of careers available now that don’t need academic qualification, like being a football pundit, politician, telemarketer, credit card salesman, sanitation personnel, blogging…

      - How can they expect us to relax and concentrate during the exams when there are so many invigilators staring at you?

      Or you should start chaining senseless sentences and your parents will think you’re too stressed studying for the SPM and they will say “SPM is not everything, relax..” Muahahah =)

      Haha..I remembered my SPM. 2 years ago. HAted chemistry so much i didn’t bothered to turn up for the exam. Teachers all hunting me down. lol.

      Bah still managed fairly good results. Must be the low standards they keep dropping every year.bwahahaha

      Haha, wish I had those excuses handy when I got my results last time. It wasn’t bad, but it wasn’t great either, and only my aunt’s intervention prevented my dad from trying to killing me…

      pelf - hahaha…believe it or not, that’s me (too stressed facing SPM). My parents have already said those words what…’SPM isnt everything’…still it doesn’t make me feel any better. ;__;
